The other day I was walking to the bustop and it was ridiculously windy. Almost 4years here and me and the English wind have never gotten along. It has made it clear that we are not friends. Anyways, I digress, it was really windy and I felt something in my eye. The wind has blown something in my eye. So I kept scratching and hoping the thing in my eyes will go away. This was about 8:20am because my class was for 9:00am
So I got to the bustop still scratching. Tuesdays are really long for me. I have class from 9:00am to 6:00pm. Got on the bus back home around 6.30pm and my eyes still didn't feel okay. I finally got to my room in one piece and looked in the mirror. My eyelash was in my eye, it had been there the whole day.
While I was blaming the wind for attacking me.....
Then I started to think. Just how often are we the ones in our own way? It's very easy to blame others for our down fall. It is easier to look for other ways to justify our inefficiencies and shortcomings than to say you know what, I didn't do my best or I messed up.
DID YOU KNOW? King Saul was in his own way all the time. He was chasing David all the time blaming David for all the wrong things in is life and because of that, he ended up dead. He kinder killed himself (1 Samuel 9-31)
If you ever want to do anything great, you have to get out of your own way. You have to look at yourself in the mirror and get your eyelash out of your eyes. Get pride, contempt and fear out of your life. Most times, we are our own worst enemy.
